How can I have an external data base for if-2k
Bob Turner — Thu, 03/26/2009 - 08:44
Using Remote URL Databases
If you want the filter to load the custom lists from an external website, you must manually create 3 text files:
* 01badurl.txt - Your list of bad urls
* 01goodurl.txt - Your list of good urls
* 01badphr.txt - Your list of bad phrases
Upload these files to a directory in your intranet or internet website, and enter in the full URL of this directory in the "Remote Database URL" field in the "Remote Settings" window and specify a non-zero number of minutes for the filter to reload them in the "Update Rate In Minutes" field.

Bob Turner and I have always promoted Transparency of Filter Lists.
Transparency of a filter list means that it must be clear what specific sites are blocked or filtered.
Transparency means that filter lists can be verified by any third party to be correct and be verified to not contain sites that a blocked due to politically motivated reasons.

The first RFC you would find is RFC-2616, which contains the following list which is defined in section 5.1.1

Can I see and modify the bad URL list and the bad phrase lists that the IF-NOT filter has built-in?
Jeff Koftinoff — Tue, 03/10/2009 - 21:22
Yes. We can send our customers the unencrypted, modifiable lists that the internet filter uses upon request.
The boss doesn’t want himself included, so is there a loop hole or back door to security included, or would I have to implement

It has all the features that you want. Clients can be set to allow unfiltered, logged access for a certain amount of time, and other clients can be set to never be filtered or logged.
